Albert Llovera (Andorra), the only paraplegic pilot and wheelchair user in the world who holds titles, will be competing in the DAKAR 2014. He will do so in the cabin of an Optimus MD buggy prepared by the MD Rallye Team and with the experienced French co-driver Arnaud Debron as his companion.

"For three years now, I have been working to pull this project off, although it was in 2013 when this wish became priority: having won the Spanish land rally championship, group N, and having com third in this championship in 2012, my goal became DAKAR 2014", Albert explains excitedly.

The person responsible for giving the Andorran driver the decisive boost he needed to achieve his wish to race in the DAKAR was Nasserr Al-Attiyah, a winning driver and regular at DAKAR: "he believes in my chances and his help, in every sense, has been decisive for this project to go ahead".

Albert is now on the home strait, preparing to kick off the DAKAR 2014 this January 5. This preparation includes travellling to Normandy to give the last touches to the buggy's cabin, to ensure he is comfortable, as well as preparing his BATEC ELECTRIC for the adventure. Following the hard stages of the DAKAR, Albert will be able to move about the paddock and the bivouacs comfortably, thanks to the BATEC ELECTRIC.

We'll be following you closely, Albert! Go! Go! Go!
