Axel (quadriplegic, Barcelona) is the Batec Mobility webmaster. He makes sure the website is working properly and that all the information on our handbikes is up to date in each section.

With a C4-C5 spinal injury since 2004, Axel has just made "one of his childhood dreams" come true: living on his own without any help. He is also a reggae selecta, playing songs from his favourite type of music thanks to a friend who taught him to create his own playlists and enjoy music.

Sport currently plays a key role in his life, with great physical and social benefits. Once a week he trains for quad rugby "with the great BUC Wheelchair Rugby family" and, thanks to the BATEC QUAD HYBRID handbike, he can once again enjoy riding a bike. He has also used the BATEC QUAD ELECTRIC handbike since 2012. "I admit, it wasn't easy to learn how to use it because I didn't have the strength to brake properly. But thanks to a little homemade invention and lots of willpower, I managed to do it. With the improvements to the 2014 model... braking is no longer a problem!"
