Joan Lascorz, quadriplegic rally driver, took first place in the buggies category at the Baja Aragón. Lascorz managed to stay in the top positions all three days of the test, which is one of the most difficult on the national and international calendars, and the most important according to the FIA.

With his co-driver, Sergi Brugué, he finished the first day in third for the Valdecedro section and moved up to first on Saturday on the Celades section, 160 kilometres long. On Sunday, they once again drove like the wind and took the victory after finishing the Alfambra section (184 kilometres) with a time of 8:09:25, 16 minutes and 35 seconds ahead of Jordi Serra, paraplegic driver. Thus, Joan Lascorz took the podium to be awarded the Trofeo Aragón.

This is the second year that Joan Lascorz has participated in the Baja Aragón. Last year, he came in sixth, a record he has shattered this year showing once again that speed flows through his veins and the drive to always do better completely overshadows any physical limitations he may have as a result of his spinal injury. This has put the Lascorz-Brugué team in first in the buggies category and kept them seventh in the overall classification for the Spanish Championship.

Joan Lascorz is competing in the CERTT (Spanish National All-Terrain Rally Championship) with 17 Foundation, the project to use technology and good organisation to overcome the physical limitations of those with spinal injuries, in this case allowing him to return to the racing world and compete with his rivals as equals.
CONGRATULATIONS, JOAN! We knew you could do it.
