Joan Lascorz, Òscar Lanza and Martyn Ashton are the ambassadors for our fastest handbike: the BATEC RAPID handbike. They love speed, motorsports, adrenaline, doughnuts and action... Who better to represent us?
Joan Lascorz has the most severe injury of anyone on the #BatecRapidTeam. After his accident in 2012 during SBK testing at the Imola circuit, Joan didn't want to lose touch with the racing world and became the first quadriplegic rally driver. He decided to participate in the Parabaja de Aragón 2015 outside of competition to put himself to the test and, satisfied with the experience, threw himself into the full Spanish Rally TT Championship driving an adapted Polaris RZR XP TURBO buggy. His passion and his hard work have paid off, and he has just achieved his first podium, coming in third place at the 11th Baja Almanzora, where he competed against drivers without any sort of disability. Congratulations Ace!

Martyn Ashton was a cycling ace before his spinal injury and continues to be after. Former mountain bike trial world champion, he got back on his trusty bike after a bad fall at demo at the British Moto GP in 2013 left him paraplegic. He ingeniously adapted a normal mountain bike, and in 2015 once again surprised the world with his video Martyn Ashton - Back on track, where we see them storming down the impressive mountains of Snowdonia.

Another one who is passionate about motorsports is Catalan motocross driver Òscar Lanza. Paraplegic since 2005 due to an accident at the track in Sant Hilari, he's never truly left the paddock. Sports consultant and representative for drivers, he's gone to the latest editions of the Dakar with his wheelchair and BATEC RAPID handbike, making this extremely difficult experience a bit easier and allowing him to experience it more fully. Recently, Òscar got back on his beloved motocross bike leaving us all speechless. As Òscar himself would say... "Give life gas!"
