Nelson Mandela once said, "Sport can create hope where once there was only despair." This applies perfectly to the case of people with disabilities who have found motivation in sport to carry on with their lives and strive to do more and better every day.
«Sport is a powerful vehicle for social inclusion, gender equality and youth empowermen - Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director-General.»
We couldn't agree more here at Batec Mobility. Both professionally and personally, we believe sport is essential for people with disabilities as a way to stay fit and a tool for social inclusion, allowing them to make new friends.
Associations such as Deporte y Desafío, Fundación También and Deporte Integra facilitate access to adapted sports, letting people try activities such as running, adapted skiing, padel, tennis, ping pong, etc. These activities tend to attract many experienced athletes, as they are very well organised and great fun ;-)

However, some prefer to do these hobbies on their own, like Guzmán (paraplegic, Murcia) and Jesús (paraplegic, Burgos), who run races with their handbikes. Others, such as the members of the Catalan BUC Quad Rugby team, are working to make a career out of quad rugby and to bring this sport to the national stage before making the leap to the international arena. Not to mention all the Paralympic athletes fighting for equal recognition of sports achievements.
«With our manual add-on for wheelchair you get a full upper-body workout.»
Because we know how important sport is and all of its benefits, our BATEC MANUAL and BATEC HYBRID handbikes are designed to allow users to do healthy exercise that gives them a full upper-body workout. As they are manual add-ons for wheelchairs, you can take them anywhere you want to go, alone or in good company.
Ready to release some endorphins and get happy doing adapted sport? ;-)
