Tackling the challenge of motherhood when you have a disability isn't an easy task, but it is always gratifying and the most exciting adventure a woman will ever embark.
"Nothing is impossible if you want it with all of your heart. Motherhood is the most amazing adventure in the world and my priority is my son's happiness," says Estrella, author of the blog Maternidad adaptada. She suffers from cerebral paralysis and on her website she tells about her experience before, during and after her pregnancy as a woman with a disability. Pepa (paraplegic, Madrid) agrees with Estrella, but as she told us in the article on parents in wheelchairs, "Sometimes you need help from other people, like when my daughter began to walk and the neighbours in my building helped her take her first steps because it was difficult for me." Plus, children play a very important role for women who have become disabled after their pregnancy: they are their greatest motivation, as Magda explains (paraplegic, Poland).

And we can't forget those other "super moms": mothers who take care of children with a disability and try to give them a normal life, like Mónica, the mother of David (cerebral paralysis, Barcelona), who managed to buy one of our handbikes for her son, despite the economic difficulties, to help him be more self-sufficient and see him smile.
Three cheers for all the mothers who are experts in adapted mothering!
